Plant sale rescued
We had to cancel the plant sale in early July because of the pandemic and the Leicester lockdown.
What happened next was brilliant.
We had a huge surge of support—messages and phone calls from people who wanted to help. We sold a massive amount of our plants within 48 hours in a frenzy of informal socially-distanced arrangements. If we had the stock, we could have sold even more.
In the end, we raised £360. That’s a fantastic result and a tribute to the generosity of local people. Many, many thanks to everyone who bought plants, and to the flexible and inventive volunteers who grew, donated and sold so many plants.
This will be a really great boost to our activities, when we can open up again.
