Wild Honey

Student volunteering opportunities

A very warm welcome to all students coming to Uni this month.

If you’re interested in getting a bit more engaged with the brilliant Clarendon Park community, consider one of our Wild Honey volunteering opportunities.

  1. On Tuesday afternoons we run a session offering local people arts and crafts, music, refreshments, secure and supported internet access and advice on sources of specialist help. We need volunteers to be a friendly and welcoming presence to add to the Tuesday Group’s great atmosphere.
  2. On Wednesday evenings we run Keep Up!, a chance for people who are struggling with modern gadgets to have their questions answered and practise new skills. We help with smart phones, tablets and laptops. You don’t need to be a geek, just friendly and patient.

We’ve had a number of wonderful student volunteers over recent years. They’ve enjoyed the experience, and found it useful in finding jobs too. “For one job I applied for the interview panel were really interested in it—it was a great thing to talk about”, says one of last year’s volunteers. He’s now got a graduate job!
